Literature Text

In the land of the D'thaya all was peaceful until the barrier on Hellfire Mount was destroyed. As you can imagine, this caused grief not only for those of whom were ordered to guard it, but for the whole nation as well. Hellfire Mount was sealed for a reason, you see. It was the place in which evil was banished from the lands, and from the six colonies.

Long before this little tale takes place, evil roamed free. No being could resist the poison which overtook the land. From the smallest child, to the most ancient and wise, the soul of all those who stood in the way of darkness were consumed. Their souls poisoned, their humanity gone, these beings began a life anew, a life of darkness. None were themselves, and terror reigned for thousands of years, until the mightiest of warriors from the six tribes banded together to forge a mighty, holy barrier. Together, the Huae, Elue, Bea, Fae, Aque, and Agri forced the poison which once ruled the land into a deep slumber behind this magnificent, holy wall.

As many years passed, the evil poison grew wiser. It leaked through the barrier as time weakened it, seeping into the animals, plants, and those who guarded it. As the darkness hooked its icy talons into the land around the hallowed ground, the earth began to bend and twist. Cracks formed, shattering the Hellfire Barrier to pieces. With every fragment of the barrier shattered, the darkness once again had its lay of the land. It continues to spread, taking over the land once more.

****
Huae: Humans, of sorts. They can perform magic. They are fast learners, versatile, and spiritual.

Elue: Elves. These elves have droopy ears, and beautiful wings protruding from their backs. They are incredibly gifted in the ways of healing and music. They are also known for their archers and hunters.

Bea: Beast people, the most primitive of the colonies. They posses exemplary control over fellow animals, and nature around them. Much like the elves, they too make wonderful archers. However, the Bea prefer rely on brute strength.

Fae: Similar to the Elue, they posses pointed ears and wings. The Fae's ears, however, point up, and their wings are like that of a butterfly. They are particularly good at manipulating nature to their whim.

Aque: The Aque are a race of aquatic humanoids. Parts of their bodies feature fish-like scaling. This scaling, however, varies from person to person. They are very in-tuned with psychic energy, enabling them to manipulate energy around them. They are also agile and cunning, making deadly assassins.

Agri: Agri are a unique people. Though humanoid in appearance, the Agri's epidermis are varying shades of green plant fibers. They are known for their potion making and apothecaries. They can also directly control the plants and animals around them.
Something I've had in my head for quite a while. I plan on writing more as the story unfolds in my own head. Enjoy~
